Here Is Why A Simple Golf Swing Gets Results

When I talk about a simple golf swing, I'm talking about an overall approach that anyone can take, regardless of their physical ability, degree of flexibility, or even physical disability.  An optimum pro level golf swing would be ideal to achieve, but something we all aspire to incorrectly in that it holds us back from getting the most out of our own abilities and also from having more fun playing golf.

All the golf books and lessons out there about how to play like the pros can help you get a better grasp of the mental game and golf related strategy, but in terms of teaching you how to physically play the game, most golf swing systems are not meant for you (or most of you) I'm sorry to say.

Why?

Because the general population of beginner and novice golfers will never be able to properly copy and execute the golf swing system employed by higher level golfers. Not everyone is born with the physical skills or abilities necessary to swing a golf club at professional level of execution. Failing to understand this will keep you frustrated and dampen your potential fun level from playing golf.

Now having said all that, I'm not telling you that you can't learn to play golf well, or that you will never have a great golf swing.  That is definitely not what I'm trying to tell you.  I'm basically saying that most golfers should perhaps dial it back a bit, stop trying to learn and copy the pros, and start working on a simple golf swing approach where your golf swing training is going to focus on things like shortening your back swing which will in turn put less stress on your lower back.  The result of adopting a short golf swing will be more solid contact with the golf ball, greater consistency in your game from shot to shot, while placing less stress on your body.

Here's something else to consider.  Even if you are physically capable of executing what we'll call the conventional golf swing, do you have the time it takes to perfect it or get competent with it?  Different elements of a conventional golf swing will take hours if not years of golf swing training time to learn and even longer to develop the necessary muscle memory to successfully repeat without over thinking every time you go out.

That's why, for most golfers, a good golf swing is one in which most of the unnecessary or extra movement is eliminated, allowing you to get more focused on the golfing fundamentals that will accelerate your golf swing training and get your game back on track.

A simpler golf swing still has you shifting your weight through the shot, but doesn't have you falling away from the target line as you complete your back swing which tends to eliminate a lot of the problems golfers have right at the point of contact.  The goal with simple golf swing is to eliminate thinking and get back to letting things happen subconsciously which is what will happen when you correct the key actions made during the golf swing rotation.
