Correcting A Golf Swing Slice Is In The Grip

A golf swing slice is a product of the club face striking the ball in such a manner that process a left to right side spin, creating the ball to veer to the right for a right handed golfer and to the left for a left handed golfer.

When this occurs, the club face is actually open and not square to the target on impact with the golf ball.  While this may seem obvious and understandable from a golf swing mechanics point of view, golfers still can spend decades battling their golf swing slice without a great deal of success.

The good news is that with a bit of practice and some persistence, the problem can be permanently corrected.

In most cases, all that needs to be done to get the golf club face square again is to adjust the grip.  The proper grip will always allow the club face to return to its proper position at the point of contact with the ball.

The key with the grip is the hand position.  If you're slicing the ball, return to your set up and look down at your hands.  If you're a right handed golfer and can't see any of the joints or knuckles on your left hand then you are likely opening up your club face just before you're coming through the ball.

To make the correction to the grip, for right handed golfers, turn your left hand towards your right so that at least one of the knuckles on your left hand is visible on your golf swing set up.  Also make sure that your hands are parallel to each other.

These corrections should effectively return the club face to a squared up position so that on impact the ball will travel true to the point where you're aiming, correcting the golf swing slice in the process.
